March 2026 Spotlight - Linblad Expeditions
Linblad Expeditions
What I experienced:
Every day felt different. Some days were focused on wildlife, others on landings, history, or simply being out in places that are very hard to reach any other way.
The guides were exceptional. You learn without feeling like you’re in a classroom, which I think is what makes expedition travel so special.
There’s also a real sense of community onboard. Travellers are curious, engaged and genuinely interested in where they are — and that changes the feel of a trip.
Why Lindblad stands out for me:
Lindblad does expedition travel extremely well. The ships are designed for exploration, the teams are experienced, and there is flexibility built into each day so they can adapt to what nature allows.
That flexibility is important — it’s often where the most memorable moments happen. On my journey, they adjusted our itinerary because there was an opportunity to see Emperor penguins — and we did. It was incredibly special and one of those moments you never forget.
Their partnership with National Geographic adds depth, but what matters most to me is how the experience feels as a traveller. It feels immersive, well supported and meaningful.
Who I would recommend Lindblad to:
I often suggest Lindblad to travellers who want:
- Meaningful wildlife experiences
- Smaller ships
- Expert guiding
- Access to remote places
- Travel that feels engaging, not passive
Many people assume expedition travel is very “adventurous,” but it can also be very comfortable — which is something I experienced firsthand.
A personal note
That 23-night journey confirmed why I believe in this style of travel so much. It’s not about ticking places off a list — it’s about experiencing them properly.
It’s why I continue to recommend Lindblad and why I’m always happy to talk through whether this style of journey might be the right fit.
