March 2026 Spotlight - Linblad Expeditions

Linblad Expeditions

I first travelled with Lindblad on the National Geographic Endurance for 23 nights to Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands — and it was incredible.

It’s one of those trips that stays with you.

What stood out to me wasn’t just the destinations, although the wildlife and landscapes were extraordinary. It was the whole experience — the learning, the people, the expedition team, the crew, and honestly the food. Everything felt thoughtful and very well done.

I didn’t want the journey to end.

What I experienced:

Every day felt different. Some days were focused on wildlife, others on landings, history, or simply being out in places that are very hard to reach any other way.

The guides were exceptional. You learn without feeling like you’re in a classroom, which I think is what makes expedition travel so special.

There’s also a real sense of community onboard. Travellers are curious, engaged and genuinely interested in where they are — and that changes the feel of a trip.

Why Lindblad stands out for me:

Lindblad does expedition travel extremely well. The ships are designed for exploration, the teams are experienced, and there is flexibility built into each day so they can adapt to what nature allows.

That flexibility is important — it’s often where the most memorable moments happen. On my journey, they adjusted our itinerary because there was an opportunity to see Emperor penguins — and we did. It was incredibly special and one of those moments you never forget.

Their partnership with National Geographic adds depth, but what matters most to me is how the experience feels as a traveller. It feels immersive, well supported and meaningful.

Who I would recommend Lindblad to:

I often suggest Lindblad to travellers who want:

  • Meaningful wildlife experiences
  • Smaller ships
  • Expert guiding
  • Access to remote places
  • Travel that feels engaging, not passive

Many people assume expedition travel is very “adventurous,” but it can also be very comfortable — which is something I experienced firsthand.

A personal note

That 23-night journey confirmed why I believe in this style of travel so much. It’s not about ticking places off a list — it’s about experiencing them properly.

It’s why I continue to recommend Lindblad and why I’m always happy to talk through whether this style of journey might be the right fit.

“I don’t think a safari is really my thing.” And I get it! For a lot of people, a safari brings up images of long, dusty days, basic camps, early mornings, and ticking animals off a list. It can feel a little overwhelming… and honestly, not very “you.” But here’s the part that most people don’t realize: That version of a safari is only one version. And it is very rarely the one I design for my clients. It’s not only about the Big Five.

One of the most common things I hear is, “We don’t need travel insurance — our credit card covers it.” And sometimes it does cover part of the trip. But part of it and comprehensive protection are not the same thing.
